The eco-drive unit generates constant three phase 400 volt electricity at all engine speeds utilising the power take-off from the tractor unit. This electricity powers the refrigeration unit eliminating the need for the fridge unit diesel engine to be running when the vehicle is under way. The eco-drive unit will power all types of truck and trailer refrigeration systems provided they have electric standby.
The eco-drive can provide up to 25KVA if required, tests have demonstrated that the increase in the truck’s fuel consumption is minimal. Meanwhile with the fridge engine switched off up to five litres of red diesel per hour is being saved. The eco-drive unit is compact and easy to install being simply bolted behind the cab or onto the chassis.
